Whitehorse and Green River are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Whitehorse Raiders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Green River Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitehorse knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Green River likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Whitehorse strolled past Pinnacle with points to spare, taking the game 76-60. The Raiders pushed the score to 64-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Whitehorse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Dance, who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Dance a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Joe, who earned 20 points.
Meanwhile, Green River came tearing into Tuesday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Buckaroo 69-45. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.
Green River's win came from a few key players Whitehorse will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cristian Venzor, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Jason Hernandez was another key player, putting up 15 points along with six assists and five steals.
Whitehorse is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Green River, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Whitehorse and Green River are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Whitehorse hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.8 points per game. However, it's not like Green River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 68.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Whitehorse was dealt a bruising 84-55 defeat at the hands of Green River in their previous meeting on January 3rd. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Whitehorse was down 44-20.
