Tonopah had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Independence 54-6. That result is just more of the same for Tonopah, who also won the last time these teams played. This was the first game for both teams, giving Tonopah a 1-0 record and starting Independence off at 0-1.
Next week, Tonopah take on Mammoth at Tonopah at 7:00 PM. As for Independence, they will face of against Pahranagat Valley.
