Red Lion and Dallastown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Lions will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Red Lion 2.2, Dallastown 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Red Lion will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Susquehannock on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-2 victory. Considering the Lions have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremiah Morales made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Red Lion's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4-1 when he doesn't).
In other pitching news, Ben Martin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Lawrence, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Slack, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Red Lion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Susquehannock only posted an OBP of .185.
Meanwhile, Dallastown waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 3-0 shutout.
Not much got past Sam Forry, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Central York off the board.
On the hitting side, Dallastown's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Meyer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Meyer's first of the season.
Red Lion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Dallastown, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Dallastown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Lion has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Dallastown, though, as they've only averaged .340. Will they be able to contain Red Lion's hitters?
Red Lion couldn't quite get it done against Dallastown in their previous meeting on Monday as they fell 6-1. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
