Arlington has gone 8-2 against Fort Calhoun recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Arlington Eagles will be playing at home against the Fort Calhoun Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Arlington comes in on three and Fort Calhoun on five.
Arlington's tournament run continued when they took on Douglas County West on Tuesday. Arlington sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Douglas County West. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Falcon are ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Britt Nielsen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Wolf, who posted nine points.
Arlington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County West only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fort Calhoun hadn't done well against Syracuse recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fort Calhoun took down Syracuse 47-31.
Fort Calhoun found their leader in sophomore Ansley Elofson, who earned 17 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Elofson. Raeann Massey was another key player, putting up eight points.
Arlington's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Fort Calhoun, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Arlington has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Fort Calhoun struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Arlington beat Fort Calhoun 45-32 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Arlington repeat their success, or does Fort Calhoun have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
