Melvindale is 2-7 against the Bulldogs since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Melvindale Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Robichaud Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Melvindale was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-65 to the Cougars. Melvindale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Robichaud can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Annapolis. Given Robichaud's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Cougars are ranked 699th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Melvindale now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Robichaud, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Melvindale took a serious blow against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 66-33. Can Melvindale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
