Blountstown is 8-2 against the Bulldogs since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Blountstown Tigers will square off against the Liberty County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Blountstown sitting on 11 straight wins and the Bulldogs on four.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Blountstown had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Hornets, posting a 57-17 victory on the road. Blountstown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Blountstown can attribute much of their success to Cyianna Smith, who scored 15 points, and Jill Davis, who scored 16 points. Davis hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalynn Copeland, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Liberty County didn't have too much trouble with the Pirates on the road on Monday as they won 42-26.
Gabriella Flowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Caleigh Peddie was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Blountstown's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Liberty County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
Blountstown strolled past the Bulldogs in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 53-35. Does Blountstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
