Basketball Recap: Simeon Takes a Loss

Simeon lost against Perspectives Leadership/Technology back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Simeon Wolverines fell just short of the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors by a score of 51-48. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Simeon still got an impressive performance from Dijona Berrien, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Berrien has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Pillow, who posted eight points.

Perspectives Leadership/Technology had a senior duo take command as Catrina Sanders went 8 of 9 on her way to 19 points and five steals and Karla Thomas dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Sanders. Kaylin Morgan was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Simeon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Simeon will face off against Amundsen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they will take on Jones at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Perspectives Leadership/Technology's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Jones has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
