Northwest Christian extended their postseason success on Thursday against Snowflake. They won by a set and slipped past the Lobos 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Northwest Christian took Snowflake into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 19-25, 17-25, 25-14, 15-13.
Northwest Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Brumbaugh out in front who had 18 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Brumbaugh has posted since back in November of 2024. Ava Parsons was another key player, getting 13 digs and five assists.
Despite the defeat, Snowflake saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lucy Lyman had 16 digs and three assists. Lyman has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times she's played. Player #15 also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Northwest Christian's record is now 27-6. As for Snowflake, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 33-9-4.
Northwest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Valley Christian on the 15th. Snowflake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
