The Carbondale Area Chargers pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-58 to Mid Valley. Carbondale Area was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Demaja Dunston was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Mid Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunston has scored all season. Kaleik Cook was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Mid Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Carbondale Area will take on the Chiefs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Chargers are ranked 219th). As for Mid Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Cross is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
