Jules Miranda made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, St. Brendan got a massive performance out of Madisyn Llerandi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits Llerandi has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Barrueta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
St. Brendan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) got the win against Somerset Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 11-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.
Leilani Gonzalez was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Jeneice Wright also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
St. Brendan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their record is now 18-6.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Brendan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Brendan came up short against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in their previous matchup back in March, falling 7-3. Can the Sabres avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
