This season hasn't been kind to the Evant Elks, who are still winless after their fourth match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-31 walloping at the hands of Methodist Children's Home on Tuesday.
Leading Methodist Children's Home to victory were Elijah Williams and Londen Bickham. Williams scored 18 points along with five steals, while Bickham dropped a double-double on 23 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bickham has scored at least 25% of Methodist Children's Home's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Bickham, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Evant's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Methodist Children's Home, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Evant will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iredell at 1:15 p.m. on December 29th. Methodist Children's Home will be home for the holidays to greet Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
