Baseball Recap: River Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marion Center

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Valley). They had just enough and edged out the Marion Center Stingers 11-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Zeke Doak was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two runs, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Merreck Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: River Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Marion Center, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
