The result was an unpleasant reminder to Acadiana of the 47-33 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Blaine Davey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sam Houston, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Davey pulled down eight or more rebounds. Carter Malveaux was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Acadiana has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Sam Houston, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9.
Acadiana will square off against Southside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sam Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Comeaux at 7:00 p.m.
