At the plate, Davis scored two runs while going 1-for-4, while Horcajo scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. In other batting news, Jaelynn Whipple was incredible, firing off three home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alivia Vance, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Vanguard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Vanguard now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mount Dora, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7.
Looking ahead, Vanguard will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Dora, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
