A well-balanced attack led the Rocky Mountain Lobos over the Prairie View Thunderhawks in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rocky Mountain blew Prairie View out of the water with a 75-30 final score. With Rocky Mountain ahead 48-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Sara Chicco, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 1 assist. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Meela Delap, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Prairie View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Celicia Robles. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with two steals. Robles is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.
The win (which was Rocky Mountain's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.33 points. As for Prairie View, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Timnath at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Timnath knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Rocky Mountain likes a good challenge. As for Prairie View, they will head out on the road to square off against Poudre at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
