The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-43 to Raymond.
Battle Ground Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dj Haws, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Abby Mclay who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Haws also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Ella Mclay was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Battle Ground Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Raymond, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9.
Battle Ground Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rossville Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. Raymond won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Port Gibson at 5:00 a.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Port Gibson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
