Plainview and Madill are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Plainview Indians' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Madill Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. Plainview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Madill is ranked 17th).
Even though Crossover Prep scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, Plainview still came out on top. Plainview narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Crossover Prep 67-64.
Meanwhile, Madill put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Duncan 51-21 at home. With Madill ahead 28-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brylan James, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for James. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Padgett, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Plainview's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Madill, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Plainview came up short against Madill when the teams last played back in February, falling 57-44. Can Plainview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
