The Dr. Phillips Panthers will take on the Lake Howell Silverhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dr. Phillips is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Dr. Phillips couldn't beat Orangewood Christian on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-4.
Dr. Phillips got a good showing from Jaxon Safford, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Dr. Phillips saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Cone, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Lake Howell never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Seminole on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Seminoles. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Silverhawks yet this season.
Garrett Brown looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Lake Howell let Nathaniel Grimm and Connor McBratney run wild. Grimm went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double, while McBratney went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Grimm has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Liam Hall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Lake Howell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seminole only posted an OBP of .200.
Dr. Phillips' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lake Howell, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Lake Howell's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Dr. Phillips has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game.
