The San Gorgonio Spartans will head out to face off against the Colton Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
San Gorgonio barely beat Bloomington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans never let the Bruins get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Elizabeth Zamudio was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anaiz Barajas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: San Gorgonio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Colton entered their tilt with Eisenhower on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 6-3.
ANDREA VARELA spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on DESIREE ARMENTA, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. STEPHANIE DELACRUZ was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
Colton pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for San Gorgonio, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11-1.
San Gorgonio might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Colton in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
