It was a good run, but the Tri County Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Freeman. Tri County lost against Freeman in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-35 score last time.
Tri County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Siems, who scored 18 points. The match was Siems' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caden Bales, who scored 11 points.
Tri County's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Freeman, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Tri County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fillmore Central on January 19th. Freeman is on the road again on Thursday and play against Parkview Christian at 3:30 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Parkview Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
