Softball Recap: Casa Roble Extends Winning Streak to Three

Casa Roble entered their tilt with El Camino on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 26-6 margin over the Eagles. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Cassandra Alvarez looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Zaria Gee was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Godwin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Casa Roble was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Casa Roble pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for El Camino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Roble will take on Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Casa Roble's pitchers better be ready for this one: Dixon has averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for El Camino, they will face off against Destiny Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
