At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Espiritu-Niswonger, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Fairview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Neumann, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Fairview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rock Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Douglas County with a sharp 8-2 victory on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jacob Woods spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zach Perry was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kaden Montz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Rock Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Rock Canyon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Rock Canyon, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Fairview's sizable advantage in that area, the Jaguars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Fairview suffered a grim 25-3 defeat to Rock Canyon in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
