Port Barre scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 79-52 loss at the hands of the Teurlings Catholic Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Rebels are ranked 42nd).

Port Barre now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Teurlings Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Port Barre will take on West Feliciana in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Feliciana will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Port Barre surely won't give up without a fight. As for Teurlings Catholic, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elton at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
