Last Friday, Faith Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-43 to Roanoke Valley Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Faith Christian in their matchups with Roanoke Valley Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Faith Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Burton, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, and Aaron Ridge who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Burton pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Newton, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Boys' Home, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They lost to Christian Heritage Academy at home by a decisive 55-41 margin on Saturday.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Boys' Home, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
