If the Bowman Academy Eagles were feeling good off their 59-7 takedown of the South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bowman Academy fell 53-45 to Michigan City on Thursday. Bowman Academy has not had much luck with Michigan City recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Bowman Academy still got an impressive performance from Kahlen Robinson, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Jackson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Bowman Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Michigan City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will take on Griffith at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Griffith has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. Michigan City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gary West Side at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Gary West Side is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
