The Manchester Squires have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 45-31 to Tippecanoe Valley. Manchester has not had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Manchester had strong showings from Peyton Ream, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Kimberly Schroll, who scored seven points.
Tippecanoe Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Egolf led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chesnee Miller, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Manchester's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.
Manchester will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bluffton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will face off against the Zebras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rochester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Vikings are ranked 40th).
