Lexington fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Thrall on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Taylor Akin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lexington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teal Brockenbush, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rogers can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged out C.H. Yoe 8-7.
Rogers let Ariela Gutierrez and Kenzie Ulicnik run wild. Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ulicnik went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Gutierrez has posted since back in February. Kinley Caldwell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Rogers' victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Lexington, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lexington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Rogers struggles in that department as they've averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Lexington's way against Rogers in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Lexington made off with a 12-1 win. Will Lexington repeat their success, or does Rogers has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
