The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wills Point, who took down 388th ranked Ford, 41-26. Chase Pemberton threw for 413 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 24 yards in the win.
Taylor Sikorsky of the Panthers ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Region II District 14 this season against the Tigers last week. Sikorsky scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 149 on the day as his team lost to Wills Point.
Tre' Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Kevin Garvin's team bested Todd Wallace's team. Smith tallied six receptions for 169 yards. Jah Golden helped Wills Point's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 131 yards.
The Tigers' Pemberton and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pemberton has thrown for 1693 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 37 catches for 687 yards. The Panthers' Sikorsky leads the league in rushing yards with 992.
The top two teams in 3A Region II District 14 will face off this week when first place Kaufman takes on second place Ford. Kaufman defeated Rains last week, while Ford lost to Wills Point.
Sikorsky of the the Panthers is only eight yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
