After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Hebron, Howard was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Centennial Eagles 11-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Kiersten Black made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Black was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenna Beers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hadley Coleman, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Howard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only managed four hits.
The win got Howard back to even at 1-1. As for Centennial, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
