Awaken Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Jordan led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 5 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least 25% of Awaken Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Kenny, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Laughlin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Castro, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. Brett Schnitzler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Awaken Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Laughlin, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
