The Cranbrook Kingswood Cranes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Richard by a score of 49-40. Given Cranbrook Kingswood's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Richard is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Yasmyn Palmer was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Vaz, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Cranbrook Kingswood's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Richard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cranbrook Kingswood will take on University Liggett at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Richard, they will be playing at home against Hamtramck at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamtramck is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
