Football Recap: Aliso Niguel Gets the Win

Aliso Niguel won the last time they faced El Toro and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolverines came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 48-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Carter Vestermark was his usual excellent self, throwing for 286 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 76 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Dane Malloy was Vestermark's top target, picking up 148 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Aliso Niguel didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited El Toro to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Tate Fettig for the heroic effort on defense: he. Aliso Niguel wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 70.8%.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Aliso Niguel, adding 18 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Malloy, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, El Toro still got an impressive performance from Makya Chee, who rushed for 186 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Chee is now averaging an impressive 103 rushing yards per game. El Toro also got help from Troy Tedtaotao, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.

Aliso Niguel's record now sits at 4-1. As for El Toro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
