Softball Recap: Rialto Wins Going Away Against Bloomington

Rialto hadn't done well against Bloomington recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Bruins 14-4. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 victory the Bruins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Desiree Saldate was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Milenni Rodriguez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Rialto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Rialto and bumps their season record up to 3-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Bloomington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rialto will venture away from home to face off against Eisenhower at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bloomington, they are taking a road trip to square off against Corona at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
