Wilburton is 0-3 against Idabel since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wilburton Diggers will look to defend their home field against the Idabel Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Wilburton, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Idabel's (thus far) undefeated season.
Last Thursday, Wilburton was the victim of a tough 42-20 loss at the hands of Heavener.
Meanwhile, Idabel put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Antlers, posting a 56-6 win at home. With Idabel ahead 42-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
AJ Smith was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Another big playmaker for Idabel was Matrail Lopez, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Wilburton's loss was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Idabel, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Wilburton was taken down by Idabel 43-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Wilburton have more luck at home instead of on the road?
