The Roger Bacon Spartans kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade Julienne Catholic. Roger Bacon lost against Chaminade Julienne Catholic in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-26 score last time.
Riley Rolfert and Morgan Rohling certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Rolfert scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds, while Rohling scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Roger Bacon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roger Bacon will face off against Archbishop McNicholas at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Trotwood-Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
