La Quinta moved up to 460 from 496 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Desert Valley. The Blackhawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Cathedral City 63-10.
Palm Springs extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Indio, 33-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Indians.
Cathedral City's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Davin Lile has thrown for 696 yards and five touchdowns this season, while James Rodriguez has 14 catches for 325 yards. Issaha Nsubuga leads the league in rushing with 477 yards.
The top two teams in Desert Valley will face off this week when first place Palm Springs takes on second place Cathedral City. Palm Springs topped the Rajahs last week, while the Lions fell to La Quinta.
There should be lots of points scored when Dan Murphy's team and Cathedral City face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Indians comes in having scored 245 this season, while Richard Lee's team has scored 177. Palm Springs scored 33 points last week as it defeated Indio.
Palm Desert took down Coachella Valley 63-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
