The Western Boone Stars's 16-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They lost to Cascade on the road by a decisive 53-36 margin on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Boone in their matchups with Cascade: they've now lost four in a row.
Western Boone's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ila Stokes, who scored 14 points. Emmerson Gott was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cascade to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lilly Hall, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hall has scored at least 25% of Cascade's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creedance Chittenden, who scored 8 points along with 5 steals.
Western Boone has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Boone will take on Tri-West Hendricks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tri-West Hendricks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Cascade, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Parke Heritage at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Parke Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
