There's no place like home for the Maple Valley Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Webberville out 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ayden Wilkes was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Jake McDonald was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Maple Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Webberville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Maple Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-47 victory vs. Quincy on the 9th. Webberville will be playing in front of their home fans against Durand at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Durand will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Webberville surely won't give up without a fight.
