The Pelahatchie Chiefs will head out on the road to challenge the Magee Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pelahatchie has seven straight victories, Magee has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Pelahatchie's win against Scott Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Pelahatchie had just enough and edged out Scott Central 13-12 on Friday. While the Chiefs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ava Till was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Khloe McLaurin was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Mallarie Adams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Pelahatchie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .525 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Magee was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against Mendenhall, falling 19-1.
Magee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maycie Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Magee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pelahatchie, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pelahatchie has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Magee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pelahatchie took their win against Magee in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pelahatchie since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
