Greenwood Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Emerald and snuck past 70-67. This was payback for Greenwood Christian, who suffered a 86-64 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Scott-Palacios, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Ty Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds.
Greenwood Christian pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Emerald, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Greenwood Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Emerald and Saluda will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
