On Friday Ascension Christian take on Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.
Ascension Christian had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They suffered a grim 27-56 defeat to Springfield last Friday. Ascension Christian's loss came about despite a quality game from sophomore Zach Diez, who passed for 441 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They took their match against St. Martin's Episcopal 12-0.
Benjamin Franklin's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Ascension Christian's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Benjamin Franklin's success rolls on or if Ascension Christian are able to steal their positive momentum.
