The Killian Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Southwest Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Killian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt South Miami on Saturday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Cobras. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Killian got a great performance from Ryan Llambes as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Llambes has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Scantlebury, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was David Builes, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Southwest made easy work of Brito on Saturday and carried off a 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Marcos Veliz looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Southwest got a massive performance out of Eduan Negrin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Lacher, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Southwest lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Killian's record is now 9-7. As for Southwest, their record now sits at 8-6.
Killian came up short against Southwest in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, falling 7-3. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
