Even though the Skyline Raiders scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Mansfield Legacy Broncos still came out on top. Mansfield Legacy took their contest against Skyline 66-59. The victory was all the more spectacular given Mansfield Legacy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Skyline is ranked 120th).
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Naiya Carney, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Tamya Whitemon, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Mansfield Legacy and bumps their season record up to 12-19. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 14-17 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Mansfield Legacy will square off against DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Skyline, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Ridge at 6:30 p.m.
