C East recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Nokomis, who defeated 39th ranked Mount Desert Island, 40-35. Noah Kershner ran for 245 yards during the win.
Jake Jarvis and Pascal Cyr provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Camden Hills. The connection was good for 72 yards, the longest such play in C East this season.
Kershner was a force in the backfield as the Warriors bested the Trojans.
Kershner was a passing and rushing force as Nokomis beat Mount Desert Island. Kershner's favorite target this week was Ray Girroir, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.
Cyr was the best receiver in the league this week as Old Town defeated the Windjammers. Cyr tallied 2 receptions for 80 yards. Andre Miller helped Old Town's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
Matt Oconnell's team's Dominick Erickson and Jake Winslow have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Erickson has thrown for 343 yards this season, while Winslow has 16 catches for 151 yards. The Coyotes' Braden Upshaw leads the league in rushing yards with 496.
An important game coming up in C East this week will be when Foxcroft takes on Mark Shields' team. The Ponies are in third place, while the Trojans are in fifth place.
Waterville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Foxcroft, 20-19. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Panthers.
