Classical Magnet hadn't done well against Capital Prep recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Classical Magnet Gladiators blew past the Capital Prep Trailblazers, posting a 78-37 win. The Gladiators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 34 points or more this season.

Capital Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Syre Gillespie and Jalile Riddick. Gillespie posted 20 points and seven steals, while Riddick put up 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Riddick a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Hill, who had ten boards.

The victory was the third in a row for Classical Magnet, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points. As for Capital Prep, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Classical Magnet will venture away from home to square off against University at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Classical Magnet is facing University at the right time seeing as University is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Capital Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-42 defeat against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering on the 16th.
