Victory Christian Academy extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Gavin Whitaker. The Victory Christian Academy Lions had just enough and edged out Legacy Academy 72-70 with plenty of help from Whitaker, who posted 40 points. The contest was his ninth in a row with at least 21 points.

Legacy Academy lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon Hill, who shot 69% from the field en route to 23 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Anderson Allen was another key player, going 6-for-8 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and three steals.

Victory Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points over those games. As for Legacy Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
