David Leibowitz of Pine Crest ran for the longest rushing play in Southeastern - North this season against Pope John Paul II last week. Leibowitz's team topped the Eagles as he sprinted for 102 yards on the play and finished with 24 in all.
Pine Crest moved up to 200 from 242 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jim Pletcher's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 24-14 win over Pope John Paul II.
St. Andrew's's dynamic duo of Sean Mooney and Jake Bargas proved tough for Coral Springs Charter to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mooney threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns and Bargas had 202 yards receiving. Reid McCool helped St. Andrew's' passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.
Jordan Watkins provided a threat through the air and on the ground as John Carroll Catholic bested Marathon. He completed 21 passes for 279 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 26 yards. Watkins' favorite target this week was Dan Culumber, who caught five passes for 87 yards.
Spencer Saliba was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 188 yards as Westminster Academy fell to the Panthers. Teammate David Paraday added to the ground attack by rushing for 33 yards.
On the ground, the Eagles' DeQuan McGriff has rushed for 587 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Marill. The Coral Springs Charter star has 18 catches for 351 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Coral Springs Charter takes on the Panthers. At the moment, the Panthers are in fifth, while Pine Crest is in first.
The Panthers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Pope John Paul II, 24-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
