Paraclete was led to victory by Kyle Fulton Jr and Joseph Mesa. Fulton Jr rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, while Mesa threw for 173 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 135 rushing yards gave Fulton Jr a new career-high.
Paraclete didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rossie Cherry and Savaughn Gentle. Cherry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mark Gomez, who threw for 341 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Garces Memorial's leading receiver Braxton Sherley was Gomez's top target yet again, picking up 188 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paraclete will square off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garces Memorial, they will face off against Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
