Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask York). They breezed by the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders to the tune of 62-34 on Tuesday. Given the Dukes' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 104th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kinslee Kern, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Kern continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Koch, who went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points.

York smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Grand Island Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Anna Tibbetts, who posted 11 points and six boards. Maggie Herbek was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

York's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

York didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-42 win against Crete on the 17th. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-44 victory against Aquinas on the 17th.
