The Almont Raiders extended their postseason success on Friday against the Michigan Collegiate Cougars. Almont came out on top in a nail-biter against Michigan Collegiate and snuck past 40-38. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Chase Battani continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards.
The victory makes it two in a row for Almont and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points per game. As for Michigan Collegiate, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1.
Almont will square off against Edison Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Michigan Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
